Our constitution guarantees the fundamental rights of citizens, including the secrecy and freedom of privacy, as well as the secrecy of communication. Therefore, unauthorized interception of personal information and privacy is generally illegal. However, illegal eavesdropping and leakage of information in communication are causing serious infringements of human rights in our society, threatening the free formation of individual lives of citizens.
To fundamentally eliminate the potential for such violations of basic rights and thoroughly protect the privacy of Culture Capital members, and to guarantee freedom of communication in an information society, we hereby specify our privacy policy as follows. The Culture Capital Privacy Policy may change in accordance with changes in government laws and guidelines and changes in Culture Capital policies. We encourage members to check it regularly when visiting the Culture Capital website.
1. Purpose of collecting and using personal information
The purpose of collecting your personal information is to provide you with the most customized services through the Culture Capital website. Culture Capital provides various content services for free and for a fee. By using the personal information you provide, we can selectively provide you with more useful information.
Culture Capital also publishes advertisements to provide various services. In this case, based on your personal information, we can selectively deliver advertisements that are more valuable as useful information to you
2. Items of personal information collected and collection methods
Culture Capital collects the most essential personal information for providing services when you first sign up. The information collected at the time of registration includes your date of birth, ID, marital status, nickname, recommending ID, password, name, email, address, phone number, mobile phone, etc. Additionally, additional information may be requested to provide specific services.
For the purpose of real-name verification, we may request your mobile phone number and additional information necessary for providing other services. Also, for group statistical analysis during surveys or events, or for the purpose of sending prizes, personal information may be requested. In such cases, we assure you that the information you provide will not be used for any purpose other than the one stated in advance.
3. Retention and disposal of personal information
While you are a member of Culture Capital and receiving services provided by Culture Capital, your personal information will be continuously retained and used by Culture Capital to provide services. However, if a Culture Capital member requests deletion of their ID or cancellation according to the procedure described in ‘7. Viewing, correcting, and deleting personal information,’ or if the purpose of collecting the personal information has been achieved, the collected personal information will be completely deleted from the hard disk in an irrecoverable manner and will be processed so that it cannot be accessed or used for any purpose.
4. Provision and sharing of personal information
In principle, Culture Capital does not disclose members’ personal information to others or to other companies or institutions. However, exceptions may apply if there are sufficient grounds to believe that it is necessary to disclose personal information in order to take legal action against those who violate Culture Capital’s terms of service or who use Culture Capital’s services to cause legal harm to others or to violate public morals, or if the member agrees to the disclosure.
Culture Capital may share your personal information with business partners for better service provision. In such cases, before collecting or providing information, we will inform you of who the business partner is, why certain information is needed, how it will be protected/managed, and obtain your consent. If you do not agree, we will not collect additional information or share it with business partners.
Even when advertising to specific groups such as gender or age (e.g., women in their 20s), personal information of individual members will not be provided to individuals or organizations that have requested the advertisement. For other purposes such as statistical processing, academic research, or market research, information will be provided in a form that cannot identify specific individuals.
5. Operation and utilization of cookies
To provide personalized and customized services to each individual member, Culture Capital uses ‘cookies’ to store and retrieve information about members. Cookies are small data packets sent by the server operating the website to the user’s browser and stored on the hard disk of the member’s computer.
In order to use personalized or customized services on the Culture Capital website after logging in, you must allow cookies. Culture Capital uses cookies to retrieve information about your ID to provide you with more suitable and useful services.
By assigning unique cookies to users’ browsers when accessing Culture Capital, information such as the frequency of visits and the total number of users can be used to understand the scale of user activity. Additionally, cookies are used for authentication when purchasing products on Culture Capital, assisting in product purchases, and for checking members’ participation history in events or surveys.
By using cookies to understand the visit and usage patterns of Culture Capital services visited by members, we can create and provide more useful and convenient services. You have the option regarding cookies. You can choose to allow all cookies, confirm each time a cookie is saved, or refuse to save all cookies. However, if you refuse to save cookies, you will not be able to use any services on Culture Capital that require login.
6. Technical and administrative management for personal information protection
Your personal information is protected by passwords. Only you can know your account password, and only you who know the password can confirm and change your personal information. Therefore, you should not disclose your password to anyone else. It is also recommended to log out and close your web browser after completing your tasks. Especially when sharing a computer with others or using it in public places, such procedures are more necessary to prevent personal information from being disclosed to others.
Culture Capital uses antivirus programs to prevent damage caused by computer viruses. The antivirus program is regularly updated, and in case of sudden emergence of viruses, it is provided as soon as it becomes available to prevent damage to personal information.
To prevent personal information from being leaked due to hacking or other reasons, Culture Capital uses devices to block external attacks and hacking, and installs intrusion detection systems on each server to monitor intrusions 24 hours a day. In addition, systems and data are backed up to prepare for emergencies if personal information is damaged. Culture Capital limits the number of personnel handling personal information to a minimum, emphasizes compliance with this policy through regular education for responsible employees, and checks compliance with this policy and whether responsible employees comply with it through audits by the audit committee, taking immediate corrective action if problems are found.
7. Viewing, correcting, and deleting personal information
You can view or correct your registered personal information or request deletion of your ID at any time.
If you have any complaints or opinions regarding personal information, please email the personal information manager at helper@ccl.com, and we will promptly take measures and inform you of the results of the processing.
8. Protection of children’s personal information
Children under the age of 14 should not send their information to others without their parents’ permission. Before sending information, they must obtain permission from their parents.
The responsibility for maintaining the security of your account password lies with you. Culture Capital will never ask you for your password via email or any other means. Therefore, under no circumstances should you disclose your password. Please be especially careful to ensure that personal information is not disclosed to others while logged on, particularly when using a shared computer or in public places.
